We, the undersigned representatives of business and faith leadership, condemn the way our nation is treating immigrants.
We do not mean to downplay the unique horrors of the Holocaust—when Anne’s mom, sister, and millions of others were murdered—by juxtaposing her remark with the tears of Magdalena.
However, the pain of broken families, displaced lives, and persistent fear has too much in common. America is better than this and must do as such. We need comprehensive immigration reform that strengthens national security, provides more generous legal immigration avenues, and keeps families together.
